TABLE BELL - The Embden Collection
Renaissance, dated 1553.
Bronze with brown patina. The base bears the inscription SIT.NOMEN.DOMINI.BENEDICTVM. The sides feature partly winged angel heads, garlands, dragons, and coat of arms cartouches with four fleur-de-lys and angles. The shoulder is decorated with leaves. The stem base features acanthus leaves; the rest of the stem is missing. The clapper base is present, but the clapper is missing.
H 10 cm, Ø 7 cm.
Scuffed. Dents to the edges.
