Delivery table in speckled mahogany, ebony fillets and brass and bronze rods, decorated with frames including pearl friezes, opening to three flaps on the top, the central flap containing a mirror, the removable upper part forming a bed table, resting on a base with tapered fluted legs. Stamped by Martin Carlin (received Master in 1766) and JME Louis XVI period H. 75 cm - W. 87 cm - D. 38 cm PFD Wear to the gilding, accidents notably to the music stand Birth tables appeared during the reign of Louis XV. Although rare, there are a number of them stamped by cabinet-makers such as Garnier and Migeon. Under Louis XVI, the most famous, in mahogany and consisting solely of the bed table section, bears the mark of the Queen's furniture repository; it was sold in the sale of the Jacques Garcia collection, in Paris, Sotheby's, on 16 May 2023, lot 30 (pre-empted by the Château de Versailles).
