Note: Gustave Fernand Hector Wallet, born in La Louvière on 24 November 1902, was the son of Fernand Wallet, a butcher, and his wife Ida Deneyer[1]. He first studied wood and marble at the École industrielle de La Louvière (1916-1917). He continued his studies at the Académie royale des Beaux-Arts in Mons with Alfred Duriau and Émile Motte (1920-1922) and at the Académie de Bruxelles with Constant Montald, Jean Delville and Émile Fabry (1922-1926). He moved to Schaerbeek in 1923. The Godecharle Prize (1928) enabled him to visit France and Italy in 1930.
