In-4 (29 × 21.5 cm), grey morocco, top cover decorated with hands in prayer and two doves in mosaic white, mauve and gilt morocco, on a background of arcs of gilt circles extending over the lower cover and the smooth spine, author and title gilt chinese style, inside framing in grey morocco with gilt fillet decoration and mosaic pieces at the corners, lining and endpapers in grey-blue moiré silk, covers and spine preserved, gilt head, folder and slipcase (J. Van West). Edition decorated with 47 figures by Jean Berque, wood-engraved in colour by François-Louis Schmied, including a frontispiece, one on the cover and 20 full-page illustrations. Limited edition of 120 numbered copies on Japon paper (no. 33), signed in the justification by Schmied. A fine copy in a mosaic binding by J. Van West.
