Takaharu KUSUNOKI (1936-2014) Lighting man Original plate number 2 Indian ink, gouache highlights, patch, pencil 39 x 27 cm A very fine plate from "Lightning Man" by Takaharu Kusunoki, who began his career in 1955 and went on to become Jiro Kuwata's assistant. Like Kuwata, many of Kusunoki's works feature the theme of the superhero, a theme that is very much present in Takaharu's work as well as Kuwata's. Kusunoki would go on to produce a series of cartoons based on his flagship series "8 Man", the main animation for which was produced by T.Kusunoki himself.
