Polychrome decoration of a portrait of Joséphine after a miniature by Ferdinand Paul Louis Quaglia (1780-1853) in an oval medallion on a gold background decorated with palmettes and rosettes burnished to effect, the handle ending in a bust of a winged Victory, the pedestal bearing the gold inscription: Joséphine, Impératrice.
Marked : Dihl in gold on the cup and M. de Dihl et Guérhard à Paris in the vignette in red under the saucer; minor restoration to the foot of the cup.
