Tastu, 1826; in-8 of [4]-344 pp, contemporary binding in pinkish-grey glazed calf, on the boards a cold-engraved cathedral plaque embellished with gilt dotted lines and framed with gilt and cold-engraved fillets, large red mosaic fleurons at the top and bottom of the boards, smooth spine decorated throughout with gilt and cold-engraved motifs and small pieces of mosaic red morocco, lining in fawn morocco decorated in the same taste with red and green mosaic details, frame of cold-stamped scrolls, gilt edges. First edition of Amable Tastu's first collection of poems, which enjoyed great success in Romantic circles. The poems are enhanced by the luxury of the printing, carried out by her husband, the publisher and printer Joseph Tastu. - Framed text and small woodcut vignettes. A splendid copy in a perfect romantic mosaic binding, unsigned but of exceptional quality; to be compared (for the lining) with the bindings executed by the workshop of Prince Gabriel Oginski (Culot, no. 108).
