The sculpture depicts a young country boy (the title is the author's) wearing a large floppy hat, an open jacket that highlights on his bare chest 'lu bbreve' (in Abruzzese vernacular), a particular amulet consisting of a bag made of scraps of cloth containing religious elements, both pagan and Christian, to be worn around the neck with a lace made of cloth.
