A versatile character, doctor, man of letters, witty connoisseur and frequenter of Florentine and Tuscan artistic circles, Renato Fucini made Dianella, the family villa near Empoli in Vinci, a centre of literary and musical encounters frequented by the most famous painters and musicians of the time. These included Telemaco Signorini, Niccolò Cannicci, Vittorio Matteo Corcos, Luigi Gioli, Arturo Faldi, Mario Puccini, Angiolo Tommasi and Maestro Giacomo Puccini.
