Theo VAN DOESBURG (1883-1931). Bust of a naked woman - "Vrouwelijk naakt torso". Oil on thick paper plated on cardboard. 1904. The work is listed and illustrated as figure 26 in Els Hoek's catalogue raisonné. The catalogue states: "Technique and dimensions unknown. Its current whereabouts are unknown". It is therefore an exceptional rediscovery. The catalogue raisonné also tells us that the artist took the painting with him to Weimar in 1921 and that it was photographed by Paula Stockmar.
