Bronze, dark brown patina. Signed and dated. 1919. red marble base. Allegorical figure with half nude in the tradition of the Vienna Secession. Stundl attended the Vienna Academy in 1894/95 -1901 under Edmund von Hellmer and Caspar von Zumbusch. In 1901-1903, he spent time studying in Italy, Bucharest, Constantinople (Istanbul) and Athens. He then settled in Vienna. As a sought-after, multi-award-winning and internationally exhibited sculptor, he created numerous sculptures and sculptures for prestigious buildings, as well as for the Schubert Fountain in Vienna, in addition to smaller works. From 1908 Stundl was a member of the Cooperative of Fine Artists in Vienna (Künstlerhaus), whose exhibitions he regularly attended (1909 Kaiserpreis), and from 1925 he was president of the Association of Austrian Sculptors.
