Thuringia Baumann family Collection of two diaries kept over several generations, photographs, letters, postcards, newspaper cuttings, family documents, drawings, etc. from the estate of the Baumann family from Thuringia (Bad Salzungen), Berlin, etc. Circa 1843-1968. Contains references to Eduard Baumann (*1817, 1941-1881 teacher in Pretsch/Elbe)), Hans Baumann, Margarete Baumann née Fuhrmann, Hans-Curt Baumann (director of the "Meraner Hof" hotel in Meran, municipal transport director), Editha Baumann in the Creuzburg/Werra rural outpatient clinic, etc., among others: Journal for the year 1843(-1860. ca. 80 vols. 8°. Marbled boards. Pp. with autograph D label (rubbed, bumped, spine reinforced). - With mounted drawn coat of arms (dat. 1935), 2 col. drawn portraits (including Eduard Baumann with his wife), 3 mounted letters, 10 mounted portraits. Letters, 10 mont. OPhotographs (some CdV, inauguration of the Eduard Baumann memorial etc.), 2 silhouettes, 1 enclosed folded family tree and 1 mounted letter. Family tree a. 1 mont. folded. Ahnentafel, with bound-in illustrated paperback with map "Bad Pretszch (Elbe) das bestbewährte Eisenmoorbad" (n.d.). - Diary. Berlin, c. 1897. ca. 50 pgs. (quires loose). 8°. With notes on the "popular Orient journey", continued in 1911 after the death of Hans-Curt Baumann's mother with notes on his life and family history, 1915 longer entry "wie ich Soldat in dem großen Krieg wurde" with ca. 22 mont. OPhotos a. postcards (Corps, military hospital, return home 1919 of the Orient fighters on board the Akdenis, family portraits etc.). - Approx. 44 loose OPhotographs (Vintages, mostly silver gelatine prints, various formats from approx. Formats from approx. 4.5 x 3.5 to 11 x 16 cm, some with stamps from photo studios in Erfurt) with portraits, family photos, etc. - 20 letters and postcards, invoices, certificates, insurance documents, lawyer's letters, menu cards, 3 telegrams and 1 field post letter from Argonne (1915) to Olga Baumann in Berlin, etc. - Altogether in good condition.
