The spoon with its violonné handle is engraved with flowers and garlands of leaves. Presented in its hinged box sheathed in chagrin-skin leather, marked with the initials "N E" under an imperial crown. Goldsmith : Eusèbe CALLOT (active 1847-1865), his diamond hallmark. Hallmark 1st title of Paris with the head of Minerve 1838-1919 Tumbler: Height: 8.5 cm - Diameter: 8.3 cm - Weight: 95g. Spoon: Length: 14.5 cm - Weight: 19g. Box: Height: 9 cm - Width: 16 cm. Wear and tears on the box. Notes : The number on the box refers to Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie. This model of kettledrum was intended for the godchildren of the Empire, i.e. all legitimate French children born on the day of the birth of the imperial prince Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte. More than 3,000 families received a certificate attesting to their child's status as a godchild, as well as a kettledrum in a variety of designs: straight, with foot, without foot, etc. Goldsmith Eusèbe CALLOT was commissioned to produce these imperial gifts.
