Lot no. 388
Tintin, Indian ink and watercolour illustration showing Tintin and Snowy walking in Scotland. This drawing was inspired by box 6 of plate 41 of the episode "The Black Island" in colour and shows Tintin in Scottish costume accompanied by his faithful Snowy. This beautiful, brightly-coloured composition was produced during the publication of the episode "We walked on the moon" in the magazine Tintin. This illustration comes from a poetry notebook and was created for Edith, the daughter of the cartoonist Jacques Laudy, a friend of Hergé and Edgar P. Jacobs with whom he helped launch the Tintin magazine. Note the succession of years crossed out, suggesting that this illustration was promised some time ago. Signed and dated January 53 (the sheet is laminated onto another sheet with the name on the reverse). Size of drawing (with signature) : 12 x 15. Size of paper: 14 x 16.8.
