His megalomania, his taste for money and publicity have alienated some of his oldest friends. But no one denies his singular genius. In August 1965, in Cadaqués, Salvador Dalí added a final touch of madness, opaque glasses, to his Queen of Venus: a real woman, transformed into both a mythological vamp and a machine. This is no longer the work of a painter,
but already that of a performer.
All lots are priced inclusive of VAT. VAT, at the current rate of 20%, is included in the auction price. This VAT is recoverable by the French professional. It is reimbursable for buyers from outside the EU on presentation of proof of export from the EU or for professional bidders providing proof of a valid intra-Community number and a document proving delivery in the Member State.
