Very rare first edition of these autograph albums, a process consisting of drawing on coated paper, transferred onto the lithographic stone used to print the prints. This solved a thorny problem for engravers, as the image would be printed in the right direction. This rare work consists of 12 landscapes and 12 "follies", all under two illustrated covers. The second cover has been replaced by a proof of the first. Complete copies of this book are extremely rare. A perfectly fresh copy from the library of President Victor Mercier (ex-libris and note in his hand: Coll. Comp. 25 juillet 1913). Cat. 1937, no. 1404.
