Dim. 46,2 x 30,1 cm This print is the first by Kotondo of his famous set of twenty-one beauties, published jointly by Sakai Shokichi and Kawaguchi Jiro. The grainy texture of the background was obtained by a special rubbing of the baren. The young woman elegantly applies powder to her neck while her garment slips off, revealing her shoulder.
