APHRODITE TORSO OF THE "VENUS MEDICIS" TYPE IN MARBLE Roman art, late 1st-early 2nd century AD Female statue representing the headless goddess, standing naked, covering her nakedness with her left hand. The right hand, now missing, once rested on the left breast where the thumb remains. The lower part of the legs is missing, but the left thigh retains part of the tail of the dolphin that accompanied the goddess and served as a support. Missing and blocked.
