VENUS TORSO IN MARBLE
Roman art, circa 2nd century AD
A marble statue from Thasos depicting the goddess standing naked, in a slight contrapposto, resting on her left leg. The left arm, whose hand is now missing, once covered her nakedness. A lock of hair remains on the left shoulder.
Head, right arm, left hand and legs incomplete. Traces of burns.
Height: 82 cm
