Very fine brooch from the second half of the 19th century in 18k (750 thousandths) yellow gold and silver set with a central oval amethyst of approx. 14 ct. surrounded by thick rose-cut Brabant and Amsterdam diamonds of fine quality for the larger diamonds. The smaller cloverleaf diamonds are faceted diamond chips. The colour of the amethyst is saturated, giving very luminous flashes of intense pink and violet. Size: 3.5 x 2.8 cm. Gross weight: 16 g.
