Note: Trương Văn Thành belongs to the first generations of lacquer artists in South Vietnam. He trained at the Thù Dâu Môt School of Applied Arts, founded in 1901.
In 1943, he co-founded Maison Thanh Lê with Nguyen Thanh Lê, specialising mainly in the creation of lacquer objects and furniture. He later founded his own workshop, which ceased production around 1970. It is rare to find original works on lacquer panel by Trương Văn Thành on the market.
