Lot no. 550
Uderzo: Cadavre Exquis, illustration in graphite on cardboard, entitled "Centième et ultime bande du cadavre exquis" ("Hundredth and final strip of the exquisite corpse") published in BoDoï magazine No. 36, 25 November 2000, and reprinted on the 4th cover of the album "Cadavre exquis" offered to BoDoï subscribers in 2006. This drawing concludes a story conceived in the form of an exquisite cadaver in which no fewer than a hundred artists took part, including : Hermann, Marini, Walthéry, Tibet and Loustal. Lauffray, Mouclier, Springer and Wendling had the honour of drawing the first strips of this cadavre exquis, published in BoDoï No. 1 on 20 September 1997. It's a beautifully detailed composition in which Uderzo demonstrates all his talent for pencilled lines in this clever mix of characters and tributes: Iznogoud (Tabary) as Gaston Lagaffe (Franquin), Blueberry (Giraud) as Superman, Mickey (Disney) as Bill (Roba), Chick Bill (Tibet) as Popeye (Segar), Jolly Jumper (Morris) as Obélix, la coccinelle (Gotlib) as Schtroumpf (Peyo), Astérix as Marsupilami (Franquin), Les Déblok (Cestac) as Colombe (Dany) and Lucien (Margerin) as Jérôme Moucherot (Boucq). Signed and double-signed (slightly sun-soiled). Size: 50 x 32.3 cm.
