Very rare collection of speeches, decrees, resolutions and minutes of the permanent committee and the vigilance committee, published under the name "Livre Bleu" with the very rare 2nd vol. - VD18 90618289 and VD18 90618300 - On 23 February 1795, the general council of the commune of Strasbourg decided at its meeting to compose and then print a memorandum on the events that had taken place in this commune since the Revolution, "to present a truthful picture of the multiple sacrifices made by the commune of Strasbourg to the Revolution, in the midst of the cruel persecutions inflicted on it by the partisans of the reign of blood and terror, to make them known to all France has so long slandered its behaviour and its feelings.". 1,200 copies are printed in French and 100 more in German. Expression of the Thermidorian reaction, its aim is declared: "The voice of truth is no longer stifled by the cries of intrigue, and the community of Strasbourg, after groaning for two years under the axe of murderers, has decided to draw a swift picture of the cruel system of persecution, calumny and deceit to which it has unfortunately fallen victim ... The second volume of 351 pages is more homogeneous and contains 165 different additional documents, all in support of the Commune's appeal". - Somewhat browned, in vol. 1 the 1st part bound in at the end, vol. 2 a copy with wide margins, partly untrimmed.
