UNIFORMS. Model 1872 sergeant major's tunic of the 9th line in dark blue cloth with straight collar, piping in daffodil cloth, unbleached cotton lining stamped with the 34th line, dated 1st quarter 1873, with brass buttons mainly of the 9th line, garance epaulettes stamped with the 75th line from the 3rd Republic period. Wear, a few small chips in the cloth. This 1872 model tunic has been re-piped on the front to resemble the 1867 model, the gilt sergeant-major braids have been applied later and piped in daffodil. 3rd Republic period. ABE
