UNIFORMS. 1st Spahis lieutenant's tunic, model 1898, in fine madder-coloured cloth with stand-up collar decorated with crescent-shaped tabs and number embroidered in gilt cannetille, fastened at front by 9 gilt bell buttons, gilt sleeve braids, veteran's chevons, red silk lining, label by tailor LIAND in Paris, nominette in the name of ROCCA SERA, dated 1913. Wear to lining. ABE Marc-Aurèle de ROCCA SERRA (1878- ) Volunteered in the Dragoons in 1896, reserve second lieutenant in the 9th Hussars in 1908, joined the 1st Spahis in April 1913, lieutenant in December 1913, served in Morocco, moved to the African Chasseurs in 1917, then to the Dragoons in 1918, decorated with the Legion of Honour, Colonial Medal, Croix de Guerre, he was mayor of Sartène in the years 1930-1945.
