Lovett 1841, Philadelphia. Av. AMERICAN INSTITUTE. Allegory of Liberty seated left, with Liberty bonnet on a pike and holding a crown; shield of the Federal Republic surmounted by an eagle; cornucopia, caduceus, sheaf, spinning loom, ship etc. In the exergue: NEW YORK and signature R. LOVETT. Rv. Crown formed of an oak branch and a palm, with engraved attribution. Forrer III p.483; Silver - 58,34 g - 51 mm - 12 h With its original case. With engraved attribution in five lines: Awarded to John B. Mantel For the Best and Greatest Exhibit of Pears 1841. PCGS MS63 (51879356). Barely brushed on the reverse. Nice patina with golden highlights. Superb at Fleur de coin.
