Uwe Herbst (born 1952 Cologne) "Little Riders". Original title Illuminated by the warm rays of the sun, four children ride their ponies across the beach. The sea covered in whitecaps and the dark wall of clouds in the background herald a storm. A characteristic work by Herbst, in which the weather mood is masterfully captured. Herbst never attended an art school, but was self-taught, studying the landscape painting of French Impressionism and Expressionism, combining stylistic elements from both positions and merging them into his own style.
