Uwe Herbst (born 1952 Cologne) "Market in Arles". Original title Charming bird's-eye view of the weekly market in the picturesque town of Arles in Provence. Herbst's characteristic work, in which he masterfully captures the warm Mediterranean light falling through the leaves of the large maple tree and the cheerful atmosphere of the bustling market. Herbst never attended an art school, but was self-taught, studying the landscape painting of French Impressionism and Expressionism, combining stylistic elements from both positions and merging them into his own style.
