Uwe Herbst (born 1952 Cologne)
"Market in Mali". Original title
Depiction of a lively African weekly market, in which the bright colouring of the fruit, clothes and lengths of fabric is an essential means of expression. Characteristic work in style and motif by the German Post-Impressionist, inspired by Paul Gauguin and the French Fauvists. The main themes of his oeuvre include southern, Mediterranean landscapes and market scenes. Oil on canvas; r. and monogr. titled verso. 110 cm x 120 cm. Frame.
