resting on a small heel, in white porcelain and underglaze cobalt blue enamels, decorated with eight medallions depicting five-clawed dragons, fohang birds and waders among ruyi-shaped clouds, surrounded by foliage. Lotuses and garlands of foliage complete the ornamentation of the vase.

China, Kangxi reign, the mark 'Da Ming Jia Jing Nian Zhi' evoking the reign of Jiajing (1522-1567) in kaishu on the base.
