In 1891, Verlaine planned to bring together his most violent and vindictive poems in a collection called Invectives. The project remained in the works until the poet's death in 1896, and was published the same year by Vanier, his publisher.
Limited edition of 70 numbered copies on Hollande laid paper, this one being No. 10. The author's autograph is missing, as is often the case.
Cover soiled and restored at the upper corners, very rare foxing, a few leaves slightly browned in the margins.
