Smudging at the head of the spine having erased part of the painting on the upper panel, rubbing with loss of colour on the 2nd plate, 2 lower corners open, foxing and stains in the body of the book; edges gilt, very smooth. COLLECTIVE LARGE IN-8 ILLUSTRATED EDITION preserved in its publisher's type 3 decorated "à la sphère dorée" binding (mention "6386 B" at the bottom of page 467), with the "au phare" spine, from the "Voyages extraordinaires" series.
