FIFTH VOLUME OF THE KING'S CABINET, the volume contains 4 plans of the gardens, a plan of the château and 2 sections and facades of buildings (stables and orangery), 11 views of the château, and 11 paintings and ceilings - 7 of which are for the grand staircase. 17 plates are dated, between 1664 and 1689. The plates show the successive modifications of the château under Louis XIV, as in plates 9 and 10, "Views of the forecourt", where we see that the two pavilions on the left and right were covered in 1682, whereas in 1674 they were still adorned with statues on a balustrade.
