Verspronck, Johannes Cornelisz. Harlem 1606/09 - 1662 Two paintings. Portraits of a Dutch Married Couple in Armchairs. Both oil on canvas. Relined. 98.5 x 82cm. Framed. Verso: - Inventory numbers: No. 148 (male portrait) and No. 149 (female portrait) on the relining canvas. - Labels of the art dealer P. de Boer, Amsterdam on both stretchers, with attribution to Nicolaes Maes. Certification: - Registered on the RKD's online database as Art-work.Nr. 59916. Here it is shown with the now discarded attribution to Nicolaes Maes or his successor Thomas de Keyser. - Prof. Dr. Werner Sumowski, Stuttgart on 25th April 2004. Sumowski dated both works to some time before 1655 due to the costumes and style and supplemented the RKD's provenance information. Literature: - E.
