Count Tony de VIBRAYE was descended from Charlotte de VAUBAN, the eldest daughter and only descendant of the great Marshal's three children. He was particularly active in carrying out several major works at the Château de Bazoches and, above all, in creating three magnificent libraries to which his name is attributed. René Charles Maria Joseph de Bourbon-Parme (1894-1962), a naturalised Frenchman known as Prince René, was the son of Robert I of Parma and his second wife Antónia de Bragance, daughter of Michel I of Portugal. He was a cavalry captain in the Austrian army during the First World War; he was authorised to enlist in the French army in 1944 and took part in the German campaign.
