'Saint Isidore the labourer'
Oil on canvas.
102 x 76 cm.
Saint Isidore the labourer, from Madrid, died in 1170. The painting presents the saint as usual in a field, surrounded by animals and peasants. Saint Isidore, dressed as usual with knee-length pants and a jacket, in our case in the Cuzco fashion, is richly ornamented.
The figure of the donor is depicted kneeling in the lower margin.
