VIEIRA DA SILVA Maria Helena. Untitled, 1949. Watercolour on Canson paper. Signed and dated in graphite lower right. 178 x 129 mm. Exhibited at La Hune from 1950 onwards at the initiative of Charles Estienne, in the cycle "Gouache, printemps de la peinture", Maria Helena Vieira Da Silva was a faithful friend of Jacqueline and Bernard Gheerbant. Her works, both originals and multiples, were part of the gallery's collections for almost forty years. In 1965, an exhibition featured her gouaches and watercolours alongside those of Arpad Szenes and Pierre Grimm. In 1977, the publication of the catalogue raisonné of his prints provided the opportunity for a retrospective. Provenance : Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt Collection (stamp on the back and inventory number: "Arte Storia n°175"). Galleria Paolo Sprovieri, Rome. Galerie Marie-Suzanne Feigel, Basel.
