Ceramic jar with lid, ivory glaze and incised decoration of lotus flowers enhanced with brown, the rim highlighted with a collar of lotus petals in slight relief, the foot openwork.

Note: A similar jar in the collections of the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels bears an inscription in Chinese on the underside of its lid stating that it was used as a wine container.
Provenance: Senior military official in the colonial administration in Indochina from 1937 to 1944, and by descent.
