Binding signed Allo. With 11 etchings by Henri Dupray engraved by Daniel Mordant including an engraved title and 3 plates out of text. Edition of 121 copies not sold on japon, this one of 50 nominative copies for members of the Société des Amis des livres. Enriched with an original signed watercolour by H. Dupray, 2 additional states of the etchings including the pure etching and the suite on Chine of the illustrations after Champollion by Blant for the edition of the librairie des bibliophiles with one of the figures on wove paper signed by Champollion in pencil. Some wear to the binding and some rare and light foxing to the suite on China paper, internally very clean for this well enriched copy. Provenance: Collection of Princess Marie-Clotilde Bonaparte, Countess of Witt, which has remained in the family to this day.
