VIKING EAST SCANDINAVIAN GOLD AND SILVER NECKLACE WITH DISCS-SHAPED PENDANTS AND MOONLIT.

A gold and silver necklace with a large lunar pendant suspended from a multi-strand loop-in-loop chain. The pendant is formed as a broad crescent with tapering ends joining to complete a circular outline, the outer edge with a ropework border enclosing an inner parcel-gilt field centred by a small rectangular box setting flanked by scrolling wire and framed by a beaded inner border. Two flat circular gilt medallions with raised rims are attached symmetrically to the upper sections of the chain.
