VIKING GILT-BRONZE RAVEN FIGURINE.
Ca. AD 800 - 1000
A gilt-bronze raven figurine modelled with an arched neck and hooked beak, the head with a large circular eye in green inlay. The back is decorated with a central ridge and rows of bosses above scale and scroll ornament, the angular wings and tail with carved panels.
Size: 65mm x 30mm; Weight: 55g.
Provenance: Private London collection; previously in a South-German private collection formed on the European art market in the 1980s and 1990s.
