VIKING GOLD MEDALLION WITH CENTRAL MOTIF.
Ca. AD 800 - 1000.
A gold medallion surmounted by a tubular suspension loop. The field is laid out with tripartite scrollwork in twisted wire radiating around a central roundel, the interstices filled with tight coils. A corded filigree border runs around the edge.
