This treatise by the Toulouse military engineer Antoine De Ville (1596 - 1656) first appeared in 1629. He was a military engineer, and was responsible for fortifying the northern cities acquired after the Peace of Westphalia. Headbands damaged, spine missing, upper hinge split, rubbing. The paper on the first few leaves is weakened, a corner of the frontispiece is slightly missing, light spotting affecting part of the work.
