Complete series of allegorical figures of the "Five Senses" by Meissen 5-piece; Young women in antique-style robes standing on rocaille-relief plinths, accompanied by putti or animals and with the addition of various attributes. The lute-playing personification of Hearing with sheet music and French horn, flanked by a recumbent stag and of Sight with telescope, mirror, spectacles and accompanying eagle. The personification of taste with apples and grapes, flanked by a monkey helping itself from a filled fruit bowl, and leaning against a column the standing personification of smell with a rose bush and blossoms as well as a potpourri vessel and the allegory of feeling with a parrot, a pair of putti and a dog. Polychrome painting with rich gold decoration. Designed by Johann Friedrich Eberlein. Model no. 1035, 1042, 1051, 1062, 1136. unmarked; some firing cracks. Centreboard mark. H. 27 cm - 28 cm.
