Il était une figure importante du symbolisme russe et un contributeur significatif à la culture russe au début du 20e siècle. Il a vécu à Paris, à Saint-Pétersbourg et, à partir de 1917, à Koktebel. Voloshin a étudié à l'École du Louvre, à l'École F. Kolarossi et auprès de D. Whistler et E. S. Kruglikova. Dans les années 1910-1920, il peint de nombreux paysages de Crimée, de France et d'Espagne, principalement de mémoire. Depuis 1923, la maison de Voloshin à Koktebel est connue sous le nom de Maison de la créativité, offrant un logement gratuit aux artistes. He was a prominent figure of Russian symbolism and a significant contributor to Russian culture in the early 20th century. He lived in Paris, St. Petersburg, and from 1917 in Koktebel. Voloshin studied at the Louvre School of Museum Studies, the F. Kolarossi School, and under D. Whistler and E. S. Kruglikova. During the 1910s-1920s, he painted numerous landscapes of Crimea, France, and Spain, primarily from memory. Since 1923, Voloshin's home in Koktebel has been known as the House of Creativity, providing free accommodation for artists. Максимилиан Александрович Волошин (1877-1932) — поэт, переводчик, художник-пейзажист, художественный и литературный критик. Представитель русского символизма, один из наиболее значительных деятелей русской культуры первой трети ХХ века. Жил в Париже, Петербурге, с 1917 года — в Коктебеле. Занимался в Луврской школе музееведения, Школе Ф. Коларосси, мастерских Д. Уистлера и Е. С. Кругликовой. В 1910–1920-х годах выполнил множество пейзажей Крыма, Франции, Испании. Писал преимущественно по памяти. С 1923 года дом Волошина в Коктебеле имел статус бесплатного Дома творчества.
