Voyage from Marseille to Yokohama, 1894 [China] Charming photographic album, dedicated "to my very dear friend Alexandre", detailing in fifty (50) albumen prints, including two panoramas, an extraordinary voyage aboard the ship Sydney [launched on 12 November 1882 at La Ciotat and operated on the Far East line between 1890 and 1906]. Views of Alexandria, Port Said, Egyptian types including crocodile hunters, the Suez Canal, Ismailia, Egyptian villages, Aswan, types, Cairo, Aden including a panorama, Ceylon (Colombo), Singapore, Saigon, Hong Kong (panorama in three parts), Shanghai and China, a Chinese court of justice, a Chinese paper dragon, a sedan chair, cotton workers in China, silk mills, Kobe, Yokohama, Fuji-Yama. The captions are printed on the pages of the album, which is preserved in a lacquer binding typical of Japanese production. Prints: H. 11 cm - W. 15.5 cm approx.
