Er arbeitet nicht in Serien oder Werkgruppen, sondern jedes Werk wird individuell und mit eigener Aussage entworfen. Verglichen mit dem Oeuvre manch anderer Künstler, scheint Walls Gesamtwerk relativ klein zu sein. Rund 200 Werke schuf der Künstler bisher in seiner mittlerweile über ein halbes Jahrhundert andauernden Karriere. Auf einer Ablage stehen diverse Eimer. Farbspuren bedecken nicht nur die Ablage, sondern auch den Boden und die Wände. Wall inszeniert in dieser Arbeit eine Szenerie, die an einen Tatort erinnert. Wall konnotiert den Tatort hier allerdings positiv, denn trotz Verschmutzungen und dem allgemein vorherrschenden Chaos in der Werkstatt bildet Wall hier den Ort eines schöpferischen Akts ab. Innerhalb des Werkes herrscht eine enorme Spannung. Der Blick auf die Szene wirkt wie der Beginn einer narrativen Kamerafahrt und der Betrachter wartet gespannt auf die Fortsetzung der Geschichte. But this is not the only parallel to the cinema, because many photographs look like still images from a scenic sequence. The present work also shows cinematographic references. Various buckets stand on a shelf. Traces of paint cover not only the shelf, but also the floor and walls. In this work, Wall stages a scenery reminiscent of a crime scene. However, Wall has a positive connotation of the crime scene here, because despite the dirt and the generally prevailing chaos in the workshop, Wall depicts the site of a creative act. There is an enormous tension within the work. The view of the scene seems like the beginning of a narrative tracking shot and the viewer waits anxiously for the story to continue.
