It includes contributions by J. B. S. Morritt, Sibthorp, Carlyle, John Hawkins, Aberdeen, Philip Hunt and Walpole himself, who spent five years exploring Greece.
The work is illustrated with 2 vignettes, 4 out-of-text maps and plans and 10 engraved plates, 5 of which are double-page and one folding. The copy is complete with the errata.
