WESTERN ASIATIC LUNAR-SHAPED AXE HEAD WITH LION. Ca. 900 - 800 BC. A bronze axe head with a long tubular shaft extending to a crescent-shaped flat blade with pointed tips. The shaft features a simplified representation of a walking lion, rendered in a minimalistic yet recognisable form. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 129378 (type of object).
