WESTERN ASIATIC TRIPARTITE HORSE BIT Ca. 1100 - 900 BC. A cast bronze horse bit comprising a central mouthpiece shaped like a figure eight connected to double-looped attachments at both ends. These are seamlessly joined to downward-flaring tripartite cheekpieces. Each rod of the cheek piece is decorated with small raised ribs on the outer surface. Size: 180mm x 120mm; Weight: 305g. Provenance: Private UK collection; Formerly acquired on the European art market from pre-2000 collections.
